Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Background Clips ("we", "us", the "Service") is an online tool at backgroundclips.app that generates procedural background videos for short-form content. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

All videos produced by the Service are procedurally generated, original animations. The Service does not contain, distribute or reproduce gameplay footage, characters, artwork or other content from any third-party video game or media property. Template names and descriptions that reference a style (for example "subway-style runner") describe a genre of motion, not an affiliation with, or content from, any third-party game.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.

4. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Paid plans (Creator €4.99/month, Premium €9.99/month) are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices include applicable VAT where required.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then and are not charged again.
  • Unused monthly export credits do not roll over between billing periods.
  • We may change prices or plan features with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. The Service is digital content provided immediately: by starting a subscription and using the Service (generating or exporting videos) you request immediate performance and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal with respect to the service already provided, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU. If you have not used the Service at all, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you.

6. License to your exports

You own the videos you export. We grant you a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, modify, publish and monetize your exported videos on any platform, for personal or commercial purposes, without attribution. You may not resell or redistribute raw exports as a competing stock-footage or background-video service.

7. Your uploads

If you upload your own clip to composite over a template, you confirm that you own it or have all rights needed to use it. We process uploads only to render your export and do not claim ownership of them. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and for the videos you publish.

8. Acceptable use

  • No attempts to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • No uploading unlawful content or content that infringes third-party rights.
  • No sharing accounts or circumventing plan limits.

9. Availability and liability

The Service is provided "as is". We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including statutory consumer rights.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Upon termination your right to use the Service ends; licenses to videos you already exported survive.
